Privacy Policy

Explains what personal information Nerd Mango collects, why it is used, who may receive it, how long it is kept and how people may exercise applicable rights. At launch Nerd Mango operates with minimal data collection, as described below.

Who we are and scope

Nerd Mango is operated by PULSEFORGE PTY LTD (ABN 14 698 027 913). This policy applies to the Nerd Mango website, approved newsletters and other services that link to it. It does not govern third-party sites reached through links.

Information we may collect

Depending on enabled features, this may include contact details and message content submitted through correction, accessibility, privacy or feedback forms; newsletter email address and consent record; preferences; technical logs such as IP address, device/browser details, timestamps, requested pages and security events; consent choices; affiliate-attribution events; and correspondence about rights or complaints. We do not intentionally request passwords, payment-card data, identity documents, precise location or sensitive personal information through ordinary editorial forms.

How information is collected

Information may come directly from you, automatically from the site or hosting/security infrastructure, and from approved service providers. Analytics, advertising, affiliate tracking and newsletter collection are currently disabled. If any are authorised, the live interface and this policy must identify the relevant provider and technology before collection starts.

Why we use it

Permitted purposes are operating and securing the service; responding to messages, corrections and rights requests; recording consent; delivering requested communications; measuring service performance when lawfully enabled; attributing referrals; preventing abuse; maintaining editorial and audit records; and meeting legal obligations. Nerd Mango must not reuse submitted information for an incompatible purpose without a valid basis and appropriate notice.

Legal and operational bases

Where relevant law requires a basis, Nerd Mango will identify the applicable basis, such as consent, performance of a requested service, legitimate operational interests balanced against individual rights, or legal obligation.

Sharing and overseas processing

Information may be disclosed only to approved hosting, security, analytics, consent-management, newsletter, form-processing and professional-service providers; to authorities where lawfully required; or in a business transfer with appropriate safeguards. Nerd Mango does not describe personal information as “sold” without completing the relevant legal assessment. Nerd Mango's current providers are Netlify (website hosting), Cloudflare (DNS, content delivery and security) and Zoho Mail (email correspondence); they process technical connection data such as IP address and request metadata, or the content of any email you send. No analytics, advertising, affiliate or newsletter processing operates at launch.

Retention and security

Information is kept only for an approved, documented period based on purpose, legal obligations, dispute needs and security. Server and security logs are kept only as long as needed for security and operations; email correspondence is kept only as long as needed to handle your request and meet legal obligations. Nerd Mango uses proportionate safeguards verified by the implementation owner, but no system is completely secure. The policy makes no unverified encryption or certification claim. Security details that would increase risk may be withheld.

Your choices and rights

You may ask for access or correction and, where applicable, deletion, restriction, objection, portability or withdrawal of consent. Requests go to privacy@nerdmango.com. Nerd Mango may verify identity proportionately and may retain information where law permits or requires. Nerd Mango does not send marketing or newsletter messages at launch. Nerd Mango uses only first-party functional cookies (language and market/region preferences) and first-party functional browser storage (your theme choice and the articles you save); it uses no analytics or advertising cookies, so no consent banner is required.

Children, complaints and changes

Nerd Mango is a general-audience technology publication and is not directed to children. Do not submit a child’s personal information without proper authority. Privacy complaints go to privacy@nerdmango.com; the response will explain escalation options, including the OAIC where applicable. Material changes receive a new version and effective date.
