Current position

The preliminary platform specification keeps analytics, advertising, affiliate tracking and newsletter collection disabled. A storage review confirms the site sets only first-party functional cookies — a language preference (nm-locale) and a market/region preference (nm-market), each SameSite=Lax with about a one-year lifespan — and uses first-party functional browser storage for your theme choice and the articles you save. No analytics, advertising or affiliate technologies are used. Strictly necessary hosting, security or session technologies must be listed if they exist.

Categories

Strictly necessary technologies support requested functions, security, load balancing or consent storage. Preferences remember user choices. Analytics measures use. Advertising supports ad delivery or measurement. Affiliate attribution records referrals. Embedded services may set their own technologies. Category labels must reflect actual behaviour, not vendor marketing.

Where consent is required, non-essential categories must default off. Reject must be as easy as accept. Granular choices, withdrawal and a persistent settings link must be available. Withdrawal stops future non-essential use but does not undo lawful prior processing.

Provider register

Because Nerd Mango runs no analytics, advertising, affiliate or third-party embedded tracking technologies at launch, there is no third-party provider register to publish. All storage described above is first-party and functional. Dynamic tags must be blocked unless their category is authorised.

Browser controls and limitations

Users may also use browser controls, but blocking necessary storage may affect requested functions. Browser signals such as Global Privacy Control must be evaluated and honoured where legally required. “Do Not Track” treatment must be stated accurately.

Governance

Technical owner runs scans at release and after tag changes. Privacy owner approves category, wording and lawful basis. Unknown technologies are quarantined, investigated and not silently classified as necessary.
